Hi everybody,

I have a problem with DIY Layout Creator.  When I print out the PnP render, its way to big.  Is this image supposed to be scaled down?  If so by what percentage?

Thank you.

I have that problem sometimes too, but only when I open the pnp file in photoshop.  If I open it up in Gimp, it's usually fine.

Try a little tenderness.

Go to "Render Image" and it will save the layout as a gif file. You should be able to size it with any image editing software.

Shouldn't it be rendering the PnP the proper size so there isn't a problem with scalling?

I have never had any problems. I usually just export it to photoshop, and then rescale the DPI to 600 or so. Changing the DPI keeps the real life measurements intact, so it's always been fine coming out of the program for me. I just prefer to modify it to get a higher resolution.

Some methods of printing pictures do not read the picture measurements, but tend to auto-scale stuff in weird ways before sending it off to the printer. Try this: Open a word document, insert your picture, go to it's properties, and make sure the image size is set to 100% width and 100% height. This should give you the correct printout.

I tried the word thing.  It looks like the image is rendering to the same size that is shown on the screen when I am creating a layout.  I guess I will have to fool around with resizing the image until it prints out to the size I need.

I dont know how it saves it, but if it's a .gif, it should be saving it as the same size. If you do a .jpeg, I think it messes with the sizes.

I had to resize the picture to 50% to fit the components when printed.

If I use microsoft photo editor I set it to 200 dpi (it might be 300, I forget) and if I'm using photoshop/illustrator I resize to 36%.  Comes out perfect either way.
