searching yellow pages for electronics suppliers??????

Does anyone know what section I should be looking under to find someone that carries resistors, etc locally?  I know there are companies locally but can't figure out what to look under.

For listings in the yellow pages, companies have to pay a premium on top of their already insanely-overpriced ad to be listed under multiple headings. Unless a company thinks they will make considerable sales from the extra listing, they usually don't pay the extra money. I sold yellow page ads for a couple of years, and I never once had a company advertise that they sold electronics components.

I would post in the wanted section of your local Craigslist to see if anyone knows of a local retailer. I did this for my city, and I had several people confirm that there are no local suppliers. The last one closed down in the 80s.

You could check yellowpages dot com... intials listings are free so you might find em there.  It really depends what area your in - some places have supply stores, others... well, we're stuck with radio shack.
