This might have been answered before......if so I'm sorry!

Planing an order from Futurlec.

What photocell and LED should I get to close a CLM6000 as per R.G. instructions?

Replying to my own post  :icon_rolleyes:

None of the ones from Futurlec seem good!

CLM6000 is 500 ohms to 500k. (Could not find 500 to 500k photo)

And what LED would be better? Color?

Any suggestions?    Yes its to build stuff in Craig Anderton's book.

Thanks.

The Silonex NSL-32 makes a pretty good replacement for the CLM6000.  The on and off resistances are close enough.  The primary difference would be that the NSL-32 approaches the off state a little faster than the CLM6000, and the off resistance is higher (1.5M).  It's easy to adapt the envelope follower to react a little slower to compensate (if you need that), and even easier to adapt the off resistance with a parallel fixed resistor.  AND....they seem to be made in Montreal.
