hi guys i'm new here so please be gentle.
i had an idea a while back that was basicaly use a small watt amp as a od pedal but gave up after i well couldn't find any info on doin that then i ran across this
https://taweber.powweb.com/store/balun_schem.jpg  :icon_idea: i had no idea it would be that simple

so i played around with shematic some and came up with this

and then i added a switch (left out he led because it was getting messy)

any way basicaly im not that good with electrinics (i know some basics but i completely ripped this from weber) so i was wondering if it looks like it will work?
or better yet is there one tested tweeked and ready to go out there.  i couldnt find any info out there but i may be barking up the wrong tree so any advise would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks
Tim

I think in that case you'd still need to have the amp connected to the speaker, or a dummy load, or else you'd risk harming the amp. So this wouldn't work if you're looking for the sound of a cranked amp at lower volume. For that, you'd need an attenuator.

It sounds like you're almost talking about a Herzog-type setup--with one small amp cascading into a larger one?

Jacob the Herzog is exactly what i was wanting Minus the $800 price tag. thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
i found this [url]http://www.schematicheaven.com/bargainbin/garnet_g12h_h-zog.pdfurl] the output looks very similar to what i had layed out except resistor values so i may need to rethink that part but it looks like it will work.

Cool man! Glad you're heading in the right direction :)

I don't know a whole lot about the concept, but I'm sure there's plenty of info to be had either here or elsewhere on the net. Happy hunting!
