creating a wah fuzz. how to cut traces?

Hey all,
I've been doing some of the basic wah mods lately and was thinking of trying to add a fuzz to my wah. I'm trying to work out the logistics of pulling the out off of the wah pcb since the jacks are pcb mounted. From searches, it looks like I'll have to cut a trace to get isolate the output signal. I'm not sure where to begin with this. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm guessing that I could just leave the input as is... but maybe I'm not thinking this through. Thanks for any  help.

So the question is I've got a wah with ins and outs attached to the PCB and I want to put a fuzz in series with the wah?

Simple enough I suppose. The first question, from me, would be do you want the fuzz before the wah or after it?

Before it and you cut the traces on the input and route them to a bypass and the fuzz circuit. Then the In is isolated and the out from the bypass gets connected into the wah after the cut traces. Fuzz after the wah then just do the above but to the output traces.

The theory is pretty staight forward but the engineering aspects of getting more switches and knobs into an enclosure is where you have to think hard and get it right so it all works the way you want.

Of course, it'll be an NPN silicon fuzz? Otherwise your'e going to need another power supply input for -9V and/or another battery.

I was actually thinking of putting an overdrive in there... an 808 clone. My guitarist just uses overdrive and wah, so I thought it might be a good idea to combine them for one pedal.

i just use a utility knife when i cut traces. works well, just do it a few times over, make it a couple mm wide so you know it won't conduct. i say put it after the wah. try playing them before and after before deciding, so you know which you prefer.

i see you're already working towards that wah. nice

I am working towards that wah. When I was doing the mods on the one this weekend for a friend I just started thinking about the possibilities.

working on wahs is becoming a hobby for me tbh. and you can make a few bucks on the side. definitely worth doing man

As I recall, the Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Wah/Fuzz had a switch that allowed one to place the fuzz effect either before or after the wah.  You might want to try that.  Perhaps you can find a schematic for that pedal, and see how they placed the fuzz in the circuit, and adapt it to your idea.
