I hope this isn't a stupid question but my curiosity forces me to ask. I was browsing small bears part list and came across the pedal board transformer. I know what the 8 x 11v outputs are for, but what is the 9v 2amp secondary for?

Thanks

Some high-current digital pedals use 9Vac as a power supply, converting it internally to the voltages they need.

Be aware that this is also a potential (!? sorry...) disaster, because if you ever put 9Vac into a 9Vdc effects jack, it will, very efficiently, kill the pedal.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Thanks for the reply...That's kinda what I thought, and I knew you could use it for anything you wanted to, but I wanted to know what it is most commonly used for.

Thanks again,
