In my effort to squash a Tonepad CE-2 plus 9V battery into a 1590N1, I placed the jack sockets at the top, near the rate/depth pots - BIG mistake!

I tried screened cables, decoupling caps and LFO chip swap-outs, but none of this made any difference to the excessive ticking. As a last ditch attempt, I took a piece of copper clad board and attached a croc clip between the copper and ground of the CE-2. Lo and behold, when I slid the board between the CE-2 PCB and input jack, the ticking was completely silenced!

Finished build features a small 'screening' board between ticky bits and high impedance audio bits. Lesson learned!  :)
