Bee Baa clone stopped producing any signal, worked perfectly before

Hi everyone,

Long time reader, first time poster. Up until now I have been able to solve all of my problems by reading existing threads, but this time I'm really at a loss.

I built a Bee Baa clone about a month ago. It has been working perfectly from the moment I was done soldering up until yesterday. When I plugged in today however, the fuzz was dead, but the booster circuit performed normally only to die about half an hour later. I opened up the box and noticed the wire between the tone selector switch and the 10K, 33K and 47K resistors had come loose, so I reattached it, but it didn't solve my problem.

The bypass mode is the only thing still working, otherwise I get no sound whatsoever. I tried replacing the transistors, which didn't have any effect either. I guess it might one or more of the switches, but I'm not entirely sure. My multimeter doesn't seem to be giving very consistent readings, so I was wondering whether or not it is a possibility that I have somehow fried the whole circuit... I am, however, kind of a noob when it comes to electronics, so the multimeter problem might be with me instead of the device.

I have used the schematic at Uzzfay (http://members.fortunecity.com/uzzfay/beebaa/af100.html) for the circuit itself, and wired it up as shown on the layout at Geofex (www.geofex.com/PCB_layouts/Layouts/baa-baa2.pdf). Again, it worked perfectly before :(

Oh, and I've tried two batteries which were strong enough to power a chorus effect...

Any kind of help anyone would be able to give me would me much appreciated. I've grown very fond of my Bee Baa...

Regards,

Thomas

P.S. It might be something strange in the air today as well  ??? My Fuzz Factory (again, no problems before, worked fine yesterday) is acting up too. It's just self-oscilating, but hardly processes any guitar signal at all.

I do get a little buzz when I touch the leads of the transistors when the effect is turned on, so there must at least be some signal flowing through the circuit and the output... Right?  ???

Trace the signal path with an audio probe and see where it ends :)

Thanks for the tips guys, problem solved. It seemed to have been a combination of a soldering joint which all of a sudden went cold for some reason and a broken wire within the battery clip...
