Can a JRC2043 be used in a tube screamer clone

Hi, I'm planning on building a tube screamer clone. I bought an enclosure from Pedal Parts Plus. They didn't have the JRC4558, but they had a JRC2043D. Will there be any significant difference with this IC? Thanks.

you can get a 4558 from Small bear Electronics. Reasonable prices and great service. They'll get it to you quickly.

Depends on whether you have "golden ears" or not - you might be able to put any dual op-amp in there and not hear a difference!

Look up the datasheets and compare the pinouts and operating voltages and you'll have the answer.
