Alligator clips eating your wires?

Quite a few layers of heat shrink + super cheap helping hands tool from Harbor Freight =



Super simple but I never thought of it, so I'm probably late to the game here. It makes wiring up jacks and pots a lot easier without the clips ripping up the wire.
