1977 Op-Amp Big Muff Question

I recently made a 1977 Op-Amp muff based on Mark M's layout which is based on Paul Nelson's schematic and I am finding that the higher strings sound gated or overly clipped with full gain. Has anyone else had this issue?

Mine doesn't do that it's smooth and sustaining all over the fretboard. Sounds like debug time!

Mark M's layout is incorrect.
The right side of C3/.0047 should
connect to pin 7 and not to pin 5.
