Hi guys, i made an EHX Small Clone on the Tonepad layout today, i made some parts substitutions like better opamps and caps and a transistor.
It worked at first try, i like it's sound. (i never heard a chorus before so it could be bad, i don't know)

I have two questions:

1.: I used a 2N3906 instead of the 2N5087, is this a big problem?

2.: What should i do with the trimpot? The stuff worked at first try so i shouldn't touch it? I still would be happy if someone could tell me what it does.

Thanks guys!

Not sure about the transistor question, but if it works it can't be all bad.

It's amazing that your chorus worked right from the start without tweaking the trimpot.  There is usually a very small portion of the range of the pot that gives you the chorus effect.  There is no harm in playing with yours.  Mark the pot with a sharpie for reference and then try other settings.  You will find that small changes can result in in major impact on the depth of the chorus.  There may be more in you pedal than you currently think!  At any rate, you can go back to where you are easily enough.
