I've been working on a circuit and the specifics of the design require it to be run at 5V.  Would this still be feasible for an effects circuit?  In other words, if somebody decided to crank up a booster before my circuit, would the ±2.5V swing still be acceptable for guitar applications, or should I expect clipping?

Most boosters have volume knobs at the output.

If someone "must" run MAX boost, and your box clips at 2V, I don't think that's a fault. (It might be a feature?)

5 Volts power supply seems to be too low for the guitar attack processing. Sometimes even 9 Volts are not enough.
Is there a possibility to make total 10 Volts (or + - 5V) from single 5 V?
