vintage electro harmonix clone theory chorus pedal.  all original.  it has a mean pop when you turn it on, but not off.  also sometimes when you tap around the pedal case with your finger it makes annoying noises.  also, it hisses and ocasionally makes strange oscillating sounds.
i dont necessarily think all of these problems are related, but it is it too much to ask to have a vintage pedal that could be at least a little bit quieter?  the "pop" has got to go.
the switch has three leads going to it, two on side and on the other.  thoughts?  suggestions?  cursing of vintage pedals?

I'd check all the joints to make sure everything is still soldered well, and resolder everything that needs it. Make sure the jacks are making good connection to the chassis for ground (if they are supposed to). I don't know if that will help the pop, but it might be the cause of the other issues.

thanks. tomorrow i am planning on going through the pedal and checking all the basic connections, i dont think that will have much to do with the pop.  also, the pcb is really just flopping around inside the metal case, its of course attached at the pots, but i am suprised by how flimsy the overall construction is of this EHX pedal and how crappy and sloppy the solders seem to be.

from what i can tell about this pedal, just putting another switch in it is not going to stop the pop when it is turned on.  and isnt something this old not true bypass anyway??  so where is the pop coming from...

Go to AMZ or GGG or somewhere HERE and find a true bypass circuit with 1 Meg pull down resistors.
However it sounds like You need to replace some electrolytic capacitors ( I'd just replace them all).
