Gus' Boost pot value.

I'm really fond of my Colorsound Tremolo, and want to pop it on my FX board, but the output is too low.
I was going to tack on a Gus NPN boost since I have most of the parts, but I have a 10K pot, not a 5K.  Will that really destroy my plan for world domination?

Otherwise it's LPB-1 time, and I know that might not be transparent enough for me.

  Use parallel resitor or resistors.
10k across the pot.
  or 5k across each half of the pot.
  Your domination may still ruin my plans for the world.

Forgot about the way to vary a pot's value--I've been away from building for a year or so.

My plans for world domination will not be diminished!
