diode type question

I have a few germanium diodes that are unlabelled, how can I find out what type they are?  They are clear glass with a green stripe on the end.

FWIW, I have some OA91s that also have a green stripe on them.

Most germaniums I have seen have a green stripe. It doesn't really tell you anything except that it's probably germanium.

Do you really need to actually find out the type? What information other than voltage drop (which is easily tested) are you looking for?

I don't really need to know the type I guess, I was just curious.
