I thought it wasn't possible... well... that's actually close enough to impossible, compared to this

The Anderton/PAiA vocoder schematic is floating around somewhere.  I may have a reasonable scan of the original Keyboard article with the schem somewhere.

OMG :o   That thing is cool.   Who needs a Heil Talkbox...I got to get one of those for the price.

It may just be the "killer app" of this year.

Vocoders have traditionally been a sort of marginal effect, largely because they were expensive, bulky, and difficult to use for the musician accustomed to two knob stompboxes.  This gets past the bulky and expensive and presents effective vocoding AS a two-knob stompbox.  Look for it on a lot more recordings and live gigs.

I actually own a Heil and its heavy and a pain in the butt to setup and use, not to mention unsanitary.  If that thing sounds as good as it appears I think you are right Mark.

I own a Roland SVC-350, I've been looking for a schematic for a few years and haven't found one yet, I'll send it to you if I find one.

There are many more fun things you can do with a vocoder besides regular vocoding, like feed the same signal into the mic and instrument inputs, run a drum machine in the mic input with a keyboard arpeggio as the carrier, and other various fun and confusing things.

Vocoding is super fun, I often amuse myself for hours with that thing.
New and exciting innovations in current technology!
