Just built the ROG Tube Reamer project http://www.runoffgroove.com/tubereamer.html and had to do some minor troubleshooting. Unrelated to the problem, I realized that I accidentally substituted a 100nf cap for the 220nf cap to ground off the diode clipping network. I would really hate to take a chance at messing up my nice solder work to replace the cap, so I am asking if anyone could tell me if this (accidental) substitution will make any noticeable change in the sound.
I would note that I like the sound, so I don't really feel I need to make the change. Just wondering if I am missing out on something :P

Well, the question is, how does it sound? I'm not sure if it makes much of a difference, but you can add a 100nf cap in parallel without desoldering anything to see how much of a difference it makes. Thats what I would do.

With a 100n instead of the 220n specified in the schematic, you'll have a bit less bass and low mids.  Still more than a TS-808, though.  If you like the sound, don't sweat it.

@Compuwade: Thanks for the parallel cap tip - I may try that.

@BTremblay: Thanks for the reassurance and letting me know what that particular cap is doing to the sound. I love the circuit!
