So I'm trying to do the phase 90 pulsing led with an orange high brightness led, when I used a diffused led to test it works properly with the speed knob but with hi brite led it won't pulse so i was wondering what the difference between leds are and can I do something to make the hi brite work for this?
I forgot what I was gonna say here.

instead of connecting the led directly to the lfo, try turning on the led with a transistor. i have a picture somewhere.

also from another thread:
"On pedals where the voltage is not suitable for LEDs directly, you will need increase the voltage level (such as in MXR P90-esque things) by using an opamp follower with gain to boost the signal up. For pedals where the signal is 'way big, you use a resistor divider to divide it down, or a bigger resistor in series with the LED to cut the current down"
