It may be real, but the problem is leakage. You may buy them, but they might be bad. It's kind of painful (time-wise) to test these germanium transistors. I used to do it, but it took a lot of time.

Yeah, I saw someone trying to sell just two germanium transistors without any stats and basically you need to buy them in loads of twenty to thirty unless they are sold with leakage and hfe characteristics or at least sold as usable in amp circuits. He kinda hints at that when he says perfect for fuzz faces but that may be stretching the truth. If your interested then state what you want is something that is perfect for a fuzz face and can he do the tests and prove that each individual is...

I understand all that. Testing the gains and leakage is no problem as it takes seconds when I do 50 at a time.

FWIW, I bought two from this supplier, and though I forgot the gains, they both had acceptable leakages and sounded as it should, a better OC44.

I'm just looking for verification that these are early Mullard CV7003s, not a ripoff.
