I'm sure this pedal has gotten many questions.  The one I have is how can I add a SPDT toggle switch to the existing tone knob.

Here's the layout:

I'm not sure how much effect it will have.  I'm basically just filling a hole on the housing I drilled so, I thought I might (rather than filling it with Bondo) try to add an extra control.  Any other ideas are welcome.

Thanks

I did this to mine and frankly, it sounds much better (to me) with the tone taken out of the circuit. Assuming yours is wired exactly the same as the drawing you posted, place your switch on lug # 2 of the tone pot (see the red "X" in the drawing below).

Thanks.  The only issue I have is that the switch has three posts - labelled 3, 2, and 1.  Should I connect to one and wire the other two together?

On a SPDT switch, the center lug (#2) is "common", which means that when you flip it one way, #2 and #1 are connected, and when you flip it the other way, #2 and #3 are connected. Use your meter to figure out which lugs are connected for each position.  #1 and #3 are never connected. No need to connect any wires to the un-needed lug in this case.
