How do you match jFets?

I've read the GEO info, I've built a Jfet tester, and I've even tested Jfets already - but here I am trying to hook up my already used Jfet tester and I'm getting the most baffling results!

So before I even plug a 5952 into the tester I'm already getting -DCV readings on my DMM. That's wierding me out. I kinda am wondering if my TL071 is wonky...

Anyway, I'm assuming I shouldn't be getting anything, because I get the exact same numbers when I put a Jfet in.

So my questions are:
Am I doing something wrong with my DMM that I don't remember from the last time? I thought I was supposed to set it to read DcV...
Is it possible my brand spanking new TL071 is fried?
Should I be getting readings from my DMM even though I haven't put a Jfet in?
