Powder coating or painting in Brooklyn?

Anyone out there in BK or know anyone who is that does painting or powder coating?

I know that Carters does powder coating, but haven't been able to get out there yet for an estimate.

Anyway, just thought I'd give it a shot here first. I live in an apartment and can't paint. The fumes would make it impossible. And I could paint on the street, but then I wouldn't have anywhere to dry the enclosures. Of course, I could send the enclosures off to be painted, but the shipping costs might make the costs just balloon too much.

Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone knows how to get it done locally.

I live in Brooklyn too, and as a result tend to just buy enclosures pre-painted. While I could get access to the spray booth at nearby, I'd then have nowhere to let these things dry! It's also really hard to find someone that paints guitars in NYC as well.

Where do you live?

Where do you live?

Last night I did a google map search for "metal finishing." That appears to be the magic phrase. I came up with these places near me:

I'm going to investigate today.

If you are in the Williamsburg area, this place is supposed to be good, though I don't know how their prices are. I've just read about them on some biking forums where people were getting bike frames powder coated:

I live in Clinton Hill. Thanks for the links! When I need to get something coated, I'll check em out and see if it makes sense. Have you had a look at John Lyons's finished enclosures? He does great work at a great price. I recently got two boxes from him that look too good to want to drill!

I'm in Park Slope. Yes, I have a few John Lyons enclosures and they are top notch. He told me that he's taking a little break from powder coating for the moment, though, so I can't send what I've got to him.

I talked to evernumetal today and they said that they could do it for $5 per box in either black or white if I had all 10 done. I don't know... not the best deal. It would cost the same with shipping just to have ppp do it.

just go with ppp.  john is the shit, but like you said, taking a break for the moment...

Nice! Easy access to smallbear. I know some product designers/industrial designers who may have some ideas. I'll see if they come up with anything.
