What are some simple mods that can be made to the Dr Boogey?

I'm making the dr boogie on http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/TCobrettis-Stuff/album161/DrBoogeyVero22x7.jpg.html and I was wondering if there was any simple mods to be made to make it better, I want it a little warmer sounding.
Should the capacitors be mylar or ceramic? I know it doesn't matter but which would sound better??
Also, I was wondering what are some substitutes for the following resistors as well as what they mean;
1k8 [I've never seen these before, are they the same as 1.8k]
2m2[2.2M?]
3k9[3.9K?]
And lastly, is there any other transistor I can use other than the j201?
I want to give it a unique sound.

yes on the resistors. 1k8 = 1.8k
