Danelectro Cool Cat Rehousing Question

I'm planning on attempting to rehouse a Danelectro Cool Cat. Would I have to unsolder the footswitch? I heard that it was a standard 3DPT, so I was wondering if I could just insert it into the new enclosure.

You'd have to attach them to the case with a couple of bolts or something, the PCB the switch is on attaches to the case only via screws into that footswitchy bit. There are no fixing nuts/thread on the switch, they look especially made.
