Which wire size is best for DIY pedals or does it really matter between these two gauges? I was reading this article:

What is AWG (American Wire Gage), and Does it Matter?

It matters as much as you have a preference and work tendancies, and little more...  I think if you get your hands on different types of wire, you'll develop personal preferences dependant upon your usage.  For example...

I prefer solid, insulated 22AWG for breadboarding....

I prefer the 24AWG pre-bond wire in multiple colors that Smallbear and the like sell for building pedals....

I prefer use solid 22AWG bus wire when making connections along vero/stripboard...

I prefer solid 24AWG wire (which is very similar to the thickness of most component leads) for perfboarding.
Breadboard it!

#24 turns corners more easily, and if you want to run 3 wires to a pot through a couple pieces of heat shrink (to keep them together), it also does that with a bit more ease.  There is also the question if the drill bit size you use on your boards, should you drill them yourself.  Some folks may find that they need to switch to a slightly larger bit if they want to pop holes for #22 wire.
