help with veroboard layout symbols

I don't know what the squares with the dot inside represent.

Also, I see the electrolytic capacitor symbol has shading on one side.  Which terminal does that denote?

the red squares are trace cuts, they indicate where you have to cut the copper trace (with an exacto knife or any sharp object) so electricity doesn't flow on the rest of the trace, the shaded part of the electro caps is the negative side...

thanks.  I'm breadboarding the circuit first and it definitely helps to understand the symbology.

where does one buy veroboard here in the US?

The forum store and smallbear both have it. 

An easy way to do trace cuts is to take a drill bit (about the width of the trace) and just spin it on the hole a couple of times with your fingers - no need for a drill, works like a charm.
