Evening Folks,

Tonight's update, (misery loves company)...  the end of the line for this shell... it's toast, all the buffing in the world's not going to save this one!  Would be an interesting trial to see if it could be pieced back together but ultimately doomed.

Started out as four pieces but just in handling them to see how they fit together one broke so now five pieces plus shell.

More issues.  The sides of the shell, either side of the pillow blocks are splaying outward. One side will almost seat a straight edge but the other side it's easy to see the bulge even without the straight edge reference.

What else? The shell looks to be collapsing (or is it suppose to be this way) at the heel under the pillow blocks, again more pronounced on one side then the other, must be a pronating wah rocker.

.... the final nail in it's coffin, going over the shell with a magnifying glass found this beneath the left hand pillow block position, not a very hopeful prognosis.

Should add the pedal was only ever used at home and more often then not i was seated so there wouldn't have been much downward pressure being exerted on it when it was being wahed, kind of like being owned by a little old lady and only driven to church on Sundays. Looks like i have a lemon here, did i perhaps miss a recall on defective early 90's Crybabys?

g'nite, take care!

Unusual. Your wah shell casting must have been very brittle for some reason. I can't ever imagine that happening to any of my wah pedals, they are cast pretty thick and are like a tank.  :icon_confused:

Jeez! that thing is doomed. Sorry man!  :-\
The wahs I have drilled out are all HEAVY walled and
not so brittle.
