Aloha All!
I'm trying to repair my MXR M109 6 band EQ which has developed an inordinate amount of microphonic noise when I'm playing. By tapping around on the board with a plastic probe I was able to locate the problem cap, but still can't determine the proper value for a replacement, since they are all SMD.
The cap in question is labelled 'C3', and looks to be the input buffer cap.  If it is in fact being used simply as an input buffer, can I just match the value of a corresponding cap in one of my other pedals?

any ideas?

Thanks!

you can always try a 0,1MFD poly cap (104 on coded value) on that location

give it a listen, you can hurt anything by doing so..

ok, after replacing 3 caps near the input section with guesstimated approximate equivalents, the noise is slightly less, but still very much there.  I'm now wondering if a resistor could be to blame instead.  IIRC, a resistor can be used as a white noise generator in the right circumstances, and I'm wondering if that could be the case here. Such a simple circuit, but the fact that its all surface mount just makes it that much more difficult to track down the problem :(
