What is the technical name for the line template that goes around your standard Volume, Gain, Output, etc. knob?

The lines that denote what settings you are at. I am having a brain fart on this  :icon_redface:

scale?

I don't think it is called a "scale." I have come across the name before however, it has slipped my mind.

I ask because I have seen many people use them on their pedal labeling but, I cannot find anything as far as a name for it.

I have googled multiple names. Scale, panel control indicator, Volume level indicator, etc. and many, many more with NO luck.
