I'm finally going to build the VMF after a whole year of messing around with the idea.  We have a party to play at on Valentine's day and it is only fitting!

Has anyone come up with any ideas o r mods for this simple fuzz in the last year since it's acclaimed debut?

Now I gotta find a nice sturdy heart shaped candy box I can stomp on!

Other than searching the stationery / hobby shops for some really saccharine, heart-shaped stickers to smother the case in, no.

The best (worst) ones would have glitter on too...

i put 2 switches on my VMF but, i forget what they do. if you look back to his original post i'm pretty sure i posted my simple mods. i can also take a look at my pedal when i get home.

On this layout, link above, what is (R5) 100R, what value is that...Ive got this pedal built and it sounds good as long as I keep strumming the guitar other wise it dies out real quick..... I did a parts check and the 5k1 resistor bringing in the 9V+ is wrong, could this be causing my problem....

thanks s

100R is 100 ohm.

It sounds like one of the transistors is misbiased. Since you mentioned the 5.1K resistor is wrong, I'd imagine that is the culprit. Change it and I'll bet it sounds much better.

thanks, I had it biased with a freaking 10k??? Dont know how that got in there........ gonna replace it and play and then see if the 100k need the 100R in place of it....thanks again for the response....
