MXR Distortion lll Mods

I just removed the C-4 today from my MXR lll, but found it left too many highs.  So I opt for the .01uf cap exchange.  This works well, with plenty enough highs when needed.  Much more usable pedal now.

What is this mod supposed to do?

The C-4 rolls off treble frequencies above 72hz.  Much too low. Removing the C-4 entirely, will give you a tremendous amount of highs, which are just too much for my liking.  Putting in a .01uf in the C-4 position starts the roll off at 1.6kh.  Just perfect for me.

It was too old of a thread on this site, for me to reply to previous posts regarding this pedal.

Just checked out the original thread.  I might try that myself, as I have the Classic Distortion.
