THIS IS MY DESIGN FOR CLIPPING DIODE BOX.
YOU CAN SELECT 1-8 DIODES FOR EACH SIDE AND SELECT ANY DIODE PAIRS BY DIP SWITCH.
WELCOME FOR YOUR COMMENTS.

I did something similar, but without ability to have diodes in series...

Great idea, both of you!

ayayay!

That's a fantastic idea!  Buy you should note, the red/yellow LEDs will not sound any different unless they have different forward voltages.  Size doesn't matter either, only voltage.  You should meter them out before you go installing them on your board.  Try a red and a clear maybe instead.

I did this a few weeks ago, except with a rotary switch instead of DIPs, and asymmetrical sets too.  Yet to be completed, but it works great on my protoboard so far.

good way to add more clipping to a distortion/overdrive if you put this in then turn the volume up, but then there's no volume drop after that i guess. good for people who push their amps maybe?

is there much benefit in being able to add a couple of diodes in parallel? would the diode with the lowest voltage drop almost entirely override the other in most cases?

how about a 1N5819 or something for heaps and heaps of clipping? (:

cool! :)

this would be a good idea to keep on a proto breadboard setup for trying different clippers...good thing i'm about to build a breadboard setup  ::)
When your life is over, will any of this STUFF really matter?
