I have a little chrome bezel. The LED fits nicely inside it. I there is a little black plug with two small holes...and I see how it fits under the LED inside the bezel. So here's my dumb question... How do I get the LED and plug to stay in place? They don't seem to lock in there...they just fit loosely. Should I put a dab of glue on it? How do you guys who know what you are doing do it?

Usually, you put the black plug on the legs of the LED and the solder the connections.  The black plug is large enough to provide a good friction fit in the bezel.

However, some of the "black plugs" are not very pliable (bordering on being really hard) and they will not provide a good friction fit in the bezel.  A dab of hot melt glue should work just fine.

I have the same problem, so I just hot-glued mine, too.  Works great, and I also found it makes the led's light emit a little more evenly, due to the glue stopping the light getting out the back so much.
