hi guys
I'm drilling a 1590B enclosure, and noticed I don't have so much space for the jack. So the question is, what could be the limit of distance between 2 jack? now I'd like to use 18mm --> 0.7" from center of the first to center of the second jack, something like this:

the pic is not proporzional, but should help to understand my question.. I would use enclosed jack, so I could place the 2 closer, but what about the plugs, outside the pedal? would be a problem with this distance? my Line6 M13 uses about 1" of distance
many thanks

Depends on what 'problem' means, and the wiring assignments.
It's easier to tell what it'll be like with different spacings by trying them first.
Use a piece of scrap...whatever gets the threads centered to hole and the jack-shoulder square enough to tell what the exact alignment at X distance would be like to work with, Size the components, and consider the other related workpieces/tasks.
For the scrap, starting larger than you need is easier to work/clamp when drilling it.
  Use clamps/ don't get a case of workpiece-spin-bite.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Mounting them on thin cardboard first will help you to decide how far apart they should be is what Pete seems to be saying.

If you put them too close together, it makes it impossible to use the right angle "pancake" plugs (like the standard Switchcraft right angles).  So, that may or may not be a consideration for you.  Personally, I hate it when the jacks are too close together, and I can't use my jumper cables that have those kind of plugs.

thanks guys, I'll try different combinations..
I usually use neutrik metal straight jack, no problem at all with these, since those are slimmer than the enclosed jack..but how knows how many jack are out there, so I'd like to be able to use whatever jack.. About the right angle jack, I tried and those fit, but not parallel to ground, a bit like this: / /
