fuzzy elephant, weird led dimming when wool pot on full

hi guys

ive just built the 'fuzzy elephant'...from this vero....

ive boxed it with a 3pdt which i have done a load of times, so i know the 3dpt is correct..

but..when i turn the wool on full it dims the led and cuts off the sound..!!!!!!!..(is this normal)

and the pinch does nothing really....

i just dont see how that is affecting  the led...

can anyone see any such problem...and cure!...?

Check that you've got the trace cut at a11, if that was missing or not fully cut then turning the wool to max would short the 9 volts to ground.

looks ok....but yeah i can see the sense in that!....this is weird........!

nope..still being strange.....hmmmmmmmm........

i have the schematic..if thats cool to put up here?..and helps!..

my 2 cents:   

1)  the components on the schematic and the layout are labeled differently .... ( example:  R1 on the schematic is R2 on the layout )

2)   if "pinch" is not functional, check that the pot is making connections to R1, R2, C6, and Q2

3)   if all else fails, check the entire circuit connection by connection with a DMM, a copy of the shematic and/or layout, and a hi-liter .... boring, but it's a proven method ....

cheers guys...slacker and jeremy were right....

i had the worlds smallest hairline of copper still on the edge...had to use a

powerfull magnifier to see it...broke the line...wahhheyyy  the wool knob works...no led dimming...

but....lol..(oh no there's a but)...

the pinch stills does nothing....hmmmm.....gonna check all over this bass-tard fuzz...lol..cheers stringnthings i will..

read the long thread at the other forum for what is going on with the pinch control.  Hint think about Q1 and what the pinch knob "pinches"

erm....ok...

right ok...checking the hfe on q1....

edit:
checked..all my 2n3904's are 150-160...i read that q1 should be under 200hfe....hmmmmm

still no pinch/gate.....


oh yeah i had to susstitute...51k for a 56k..

and 20k for a 22k...

and the pinch pot 470k instead of 500k....i'm in th uk ...so they are all 470k..not 500k..

would any of these value swaps be the problem with the pinch...everything else works fine..?
