Not sure if this is the norm or not, but I placed my first order with Digikey yesterday at 10am for some enclosures.  I was immediately given an order number, customer number,  and tracking number kept and kept informed  every step of the way. It arrived this morning, at my door , in Canada, with prepaid brokerage and duty. This was less than 24 hours!!  Absolutely unheard of.

The requested items were all there, with paperwork, and very well packed. Very impressive - as was the ease of using the website to begin with. Between Digikey and UPS, they definitely have thier act together .

Yup that's the norm and all for $8cdn or free with an order over $200. You have up until up until quite late in the day for next business day delivery and it's an interestng trip to track as your parcel ping pongs around the US through the night on its way to your door in Canada the next day. Great company to deal with!

Even more interesting is the fact that the ping pong starts in Canada where its made!

Digi-Key does have great service to Canada.  Mouser has a few lines which Digi-Key doesn't carry, and their shipping just doesn't compare.  Instead of overnight, it takes weeks for standard USPS, unless you're willing to pay extra.

I often purchase Hammond transformers and chassis' from Tip Top Electronics in Winnipeg as they have really good prices on Hammond product and being out of province i avoid PST. They have very little stock on hand as the Hammond catalog is immense, too big to try to have it all in the warehouse, so they order it in from Guelph , which is half an hour down the road from me. Guelph ships it to Winnipeg 1500km away then they ship it back down here to me. Takes a couple a weeks but does end up saving money just not an expedited service.

I've used Digikey for years now. Rarely is there a problem and when there is they resolve it immediately. As long as you place your order by 8pm EST they will ship it that day and usually it shows up the next biz day. No mins and the prices already include duty and brokerage which is like nothing in the end.

I highly recommend them.

I believe that advantage is now a thing of the past with the introduction of the HST.
