Joe Pass came into the studio one day to cut a track with some hep jazz cats. Stanley Clark Kent on bass.  Max Doobie on drums.  And the Invisible Man on the piano.

Stan:  hey joe, what's happenin'?
Joe:   hey stan, where do i plug in?
Max:  didn't you bring an amp?
Joe:   yeah, but it's got too much treble .... do you think the studio has a darker sounding amp?
Invisible Man:  hey joe, i've got just the effects box for you.
Joe:    oh cool ... let me see that ... ( plugs into the mystery box ) .... wow! this is the shizzle ! .... it's cooler than ice scream !

the session proceeded and Joe Pass was delighted with his sound .... after the track was cut, the 4 jazzers went out for a pint at the local bird and bee ....

Stan:   hey joe, your tone was super duper ( burp )
Max:    yeah, super duper duper ( belch )
Joe:     oh yeah ! hey, Invisible Man, what's the name of that effects box anyhow?
Invisible Man:   it's a "Joe Pass Filter" wired in reverse.
