I have one of the older (non ESV) BYOC Tonebenders, and am trying to add a SPDT switch to bypass the first gain stage and get a more Fuzz Face sound. The BYOC board has a pad labeled "FF in" that goes to the input cap for Q2, which I have wired to one pole of the switch with a 2.2uf electrolytic. The regular input wired to the other pole (the switch input is fed from the guitar input signal). The Tonebender ("normal") position works fine, but the "ff in" input is very low and spitty, like it's badly underbiased. I have the bias wired to an external 25k pot, but can't solve the problem with it.

I've tried the BYOC board with no luck, and I did find an old thread here that seemed helpful:

I'm stumped, does anyone have any ideas?
