I just leaned an important lesson, I grabbed a LED with needle-nose to adjust location never thinking that touching ground would bypass the resistor and poof    :icon_eek:

The really bad thing is after replacing it I did it again  :icon_redface:

thats why i put resistor on the anode side, and gnd at cathode whenever possible.

I used to do that but switched so the resistor lead would hold the LED in place, perhaps a rethink.
