i need a pointer please. here is a pic of the switch, which i want to bypass. i am assuming i just need to desolder it and jumper (2?) of the points. then the in and out would be the same as any diy board correct? meaning i would just wire it to a 3pdt switch.

here is a picture, for the sake of this conversation we can call the upper left 1 going clockwise to 4. i just need to know which 2 to jumper. much appreciation and thanks for your help.

ok, am i way off here guys? i have been trying to find the answer everywhere, google, youtube, etc.

some places call for locating the switching fets and removing them. i just assumed since the board has an in and out, this would just be a matter of pulling the switch and soldering it so it was always on.

here is a schematic if that helps.

Shorting the switch will not make the pedal always on, because the switching is "reset" so-to-speak when the power is disconnected or turned off.  That's why you need to remove a switching FET.

so locating the switching fet and removing it will make the board "always on"? do i need to pull the switch out too?

pazuzu

ok, i think i found it. there are nine in the schematic and 10 on the board. it looks to be a 2n5088. does this sound right? it is located right next to the switch. also do i need to remove the switch as i stated above?

i apologize if this is a topic that is covered in another thread, i couldn't seem to find an "official rehousing thread" or anything. an answer would be greatly appreciated, i would love to get to this this afternoon.

I don't know, I've never bothered to do this before.  I remember reading that you had to jumper 2 of the pads where the transistor was removed... search for threads regarding true bypassing boss pedals (I think they operate in the same fashion).

If I were you I would just wire in a True bypass box in side the pedal and and leave the DOD switch alone. I have a DOD icebox and when i plug in the 9v adapter it comes on on its own.  Not sure if the DOD grunge does that but you can give it a try. As far as the TB box. Just wire the send and return in directly and that should be it. Im sure theres a layout for a TB box in this forum some where.

thanks for he kind responses every one. i got back from lunch today and got a chance to plug it into my breadbox, and it does indeed "reset" to "on". so there is no need to remove the switch. as far as the rehouse goes the only reason i am doing it is because i got this pedal in REALLY bad condition, so it is kind of necessary and it's not really an option to set it up to use the old panel mount switch because i would have to engineer some mechanism to toggle it.

i'll post a pic when i get done.
