Where to get an unpopulated Vox-style wah PCB in the US?

Apparently GGG discontinued theirs and Tonepad's been out of stock for a while. I'd love to make my own, but I currently live in an apartment and have a three-month old kid, so I don't want to futz with chemicals that could harm him.

You guys have any suggestions?

The simplest thing would be to find a dead wah pedal and wipe it clean.

Well, you could etch your own, I guess.  :icon_frown:

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

All the dead wahs I seem to find are newer revision Crybabys with SMTs. I'm looking for the older style board that doesn't have the input and output jacks soldered to the board.

As far as etching my own, like I said above, I have a three-month-old son and live in an apartment, so I don't want there to be any chance of exposing him to chemicals, either by prepping the boards near anything of his or by having anything on my hands in a rush to sooth him.

I have an old board I'm not using. It has PCB mount jacks, but those are moved easily enough...

Thanks, but most of the Crybaby revisions with the jacks mounted to the PCB also have the buffer circuit. I'm looking for a clean board.

I talked to my brother and he said I could make boards at his place, so I got some stuff for making boards at Radio Shack (etchant and the actual board) and I've ordered some Press-n-Peel paper and a few small drill bits for making up the boards.

Soooooo... Now, what I need is a good image of the Vox V847 board layout so I can transfer it to the board. If I can't find a good one, I might have my graphics artist buddy study my existing V847 and do up a vector graphic of the board so I can fool around with the arrangement a bit or add things.

You can just remove the buffer components on those boards if you want it to not have the buffer.

It's also a very easy matter to remove the buffer. I had already moved it when I had done a previous mod. ;)

I used the Tonepad layout and it turned out nice.
Is the Radio Shack board a double sided board?  I purchased one of those by mistake and I ended up sanded off one side because it has to stay in the etchant too long and eating through the layout area.
