Looking to mod a boss md2 mega distortion?

Try raising the 10k resistor before the op amp
      lowering the resistance in the feedback loop

You are likely to be very disappointed in swapping opamps for different flavors. Put in a socket, and knock yourself out swapping in different "flavors". But don't get too disappointed when it doesn't turn out to have "hints of raspberry and mint, with a finish of turnips and oak".
