arggghh.. im terrible with the way switches work (3pdt, dpdt etc)

i've designed a noisebox with the capabilities of making anything from 80s telehone ringing noise to complete chaos.
everything works cool now, but im so terrible with wiring the offboard stuff.

this is the situation right now:

i know it looks easy.. i want a simple solution for the led (bright and safe).
normally i copy examples from the net, but its ridiculus not to know how it works.

Use a current limiting resistor so the LED doesn't burn out, 4k7 +/-...dim versus too bright:may burn it out.
Then decide what you want the switch to do.
Connect the CLR and led string across the battery, if it doesn't light, reverse polarity, note correct polarity [that or put the anode toward +].
The LED circuit is independant of the source circuit [ie it's a noise generator], and can be fed through a pole>throw of the DPDT and switched.
The same can be done for the output, run the board output wire through a pole/throw [on the same end of the switch as the LED circuit will light LED + connect circuit to output jack.
This assigns 4 of the 6 lugs of the DPDT, two on the left/bottom, and two on the right/bottom [or mirror, use the top lugs], the left side switches the LED the right side switches the signal.
If it pops, perhaps the DC blocking capacitor of the effect output needs a pulldown resistor.

Convention creates following, following creates convention.

thanks for the tips pete!..

what i need is simple: the switch is a on of switch for the whole circuit. the noisebox will make sound on its own so no input needed.
the led will be a simple power indication. is dpdt a good solution for this?

i will follow your instructions and see what happens ;) thanks!
