Hi all,

I recently finished a Scrambler clone. I'm wondering if any Scrambler connessieurs could have a listen, and tell me if it sounds right.

The recording is 2, almost identical riffs. The first, with a bridge humbucker, tone full up. The second, neck single coil, tone down. I just added a bit of reverb for depth.

I've seen a couple of videos on Youtube, but I'm just looking for a second opinion.

Cheers.

Sounds about right.  Here is a sloppy sample of how mine sounds:

Mine gets more of that tin pie plate sound that the pedal is known for.  I'm also really twatting the strings as hard as I can.  You can hear the noise gate built in to the Scrambler kick in as the notes fade out.

This was with a Gretsch style bridge humbucker in a solid body guitar.
Try a little tenderness.

WHOA DUDE.... METAL PAN IN DA FACE!!!

I guess I'm not twanging as hard as you, maybe that's why it sound a bit more mellow. Yours is like a pick axe compared to mine LOL.

Thanks for the input. :icon_biggrin:

Cheers.

I get the same sounds you do if I play softer.  I'm also playing through a 4" speaker, which I'm sure imparts more treble than bass.
Try a little tenderness.

Yeah, real nice Jeremy. I'm really starting to grow fond of this pedal. Your pedals got a nice sound as well. Just the right bark and bite. Guess I'll just leave it as is, and call it done.

Thanks guys.

Cheers.

glops

Here are a couple of drunken Scrambler clips.  I haven't played with it for a long time but did so in the past few weeks and had a lot of fun. I love how it breaks up when you slam the strings hard but wish it deconstructed a little less.  I would like to build another using Mark Hammer's idea of pushing it with his modified Distortion + at the front end.  I have ran some stuff into it and have played with the blend and there are a lot of nice results.

Oh yeah, it's a basterd fuzz child alright. I also built a Gristleizer recently, and I've been having a lot of fun running them together. Just endless amounts of mayhem to be had. I love the artwork on glops... if I didn't know what it was, just looking at it, I'd be hesitant to step on the switch. Great work.

Now... I'm off to find out what it'll sound like through a Stereo Panneur. Yee Haw!!!
