Anyone built this thing using the perf layout by mmaatt25?
Or have a verified vero or perf layout?
Cheers

Hi all
apologies for the mix-up I caused with the differences between the Hidrosis schematic and overlay.  Yes, the 1N400X is only for protection from reverse polarity, and it can be a 1N4001/4/7/whatever, or replaced with a link.

RE: resistors and caps.  In this circuit the version with large resistors, small cap (e.g. 33k resistor, 10k pot, 0.22uF cap) is electrically equivalent to the version with small resistors and large cap (e.g. 2.2k resistor, 1k pot, 2.2uF cap).  The cap provides an AC ground, and the resistor and pot are a voltage divider that lowers the range of the drive/"sweat".  This puts most of the usable sweat between 9am and 3pm on the dial.  You could delete the resistor, but then you'll find that there's massive gain early and not much extra after the 10am position.

Glad to hear that the Hidrosis has been popular.

... So what if I used a large cap with large resistors? Somehow combined the two scenarios and used a 10k pot, 33k resistor, and a 2.2uf cap. How would this affect the sound, if at all?

By the way, GREAT CIRCUIT. Totally loud and yet totally clean.

Hi,

I've done a perf layout, I've not built it yet so if someone would be kind enough to check it that would be good.

Here's the link http://www3.truprint.co.uk/truprint/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=5172190011/a=3797017011_3797017011/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=truprint/

I've got to work out how to get it into the layouts gallery?????

Thanks

Matt

VERIFIED!

I soldered this bad boy up on the weekend using Matt's perf layout.... and it sounds sweeeeet!   :icon_biggrin:

The perf layout specifies P1 as 10k, so change R7 to 33K and C9 to 0.22uF so you get more usable sweep of the pot like Brett mentioned in an earlier post.  Otherwise use a 1k Lin pot like the schem.

Thanks for the layout Matt and thanks for a wicked sounding fuzz Brett!
