Questions about jacks

If I didn't want to use power switching in my pedal, could I just use two mono jacks instead of a stereo for the input? I really don't want to put a battery clip in there if I don't have to because I never use batteries to power my effects.

I don't see why not. I would assume that you would still ground the chassis.

My only build so far uses mono jacks, but also a battery because I did not want to use up a spot on my power source just to light an LED (it's a TB box.) I just make sure it's on "bypass" when I'm not playing.

mono is fine, i only use a psu anyway........
