Hey guys (& girls), Im still pretty new to this, so please dont be to harsh.
I'm building a rangemaster for a friend and the vero layout im using has the positive battery lead going to the ring of the input? I read that these pedals have some sort of backwards wiring, but I just cant seem to figure it out...

Im also wiring to a 9 prong DPDT and the layout has a switch with only 6 prong... ???
Can anyone help me wire this thing up?

Heres the Layout used. http://djoman.dyndns.org/rangemaster/rangemaster-vero_v2.png

Thanks so much to anyone in advance who can help

Identify your Input, Output, Potentiometer wires, Power, and Ground. Then, wire it like this (ignoring all of the on-board parts and wiring locations):

The power is wired to the ring of the input because it is a PNP circuit. Basically, this means that the +9V is fed to the GROUND and the ground is fed to the +9V. It is backwards compared to MOST builds however, this is all determined by the transistor that you are using (PNP).

Also, if your stomp switch is Blue and/or has 9 poles on it, then it is likely a 3PDT.... not a DPDT.

Just follow the offboard wiring above and decypher where your inputs, outputs, etc. need to go.

Good Luck  ;D

Good luck with your Rangemaster.

By comparison to more advanced projects, Rangemasters are deceptively simple - they're also brilliant.

Feed your Rangemaster into pretty much any valve (tube?) amp (even a tiny one like an Epi Valve Junior), it it'll *really* surprise you.

Once your RM is up and running, hang onto it.  They make *great* boosters to put before Fuzz pedals (should you ever wish to build one).

Cheers!
