Hey guys,

I need a 42TM022 Transformer for an octavia build. Unfortunately Mouser want to charge $40 shipping to ship on to me in Sydney, Australia  :icon_rolleyes:

Im having a bit of trouble finding alternate stockists. If anyone knows who else stocks them Id love to know!

Thanks guys,

Cat

You might be able to use one of those RS transformers. I think they are 800:1K.

Sorry to resurrect an aged thread, but I was wondering if anybody has a source for these transformers in the UK?
The only ones I can find are from Mouser, which is £15 shipped, and frankly, that's too much!

We have stock:

http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=341

and minimum for a small bag (up to four ounces) to Europe remains $7.50. That's for untraceable air mail, but we rarely have a problem with it these days.

Thanks Steve. As I say, I was lookign for something more local to cut down on shipping, but that seems more than reasonable. I'll probably pick up some other components as well, how much does the transformer weigh?

Wow, cheers for the link, i'd forgotten all about that place.  Which trannie is it though?

Don't worry Steve, i'll still be making a SB order, I want some resistor kits, and some other stuff. You planning to get those 9mm pots back in in 5K and 10K's??

Yeah ignore the 42, you're looking at the TM022 near the bottom.

As Alfred E. Neumann of Mad Magazine fame was supposed to have said: "What, me worry?"

The shopping cart will tell you when you hit an increased shipping "level," because you'll see the shipping charge go up. Boat with Alpha pots docked Friday and we will be posting stock this week. More stuff coming...

Hey guys,

I need a 42TM022 Transformer for an octavia build.

One thing I noticed when looking around at http://www.musikding.de is that they suggest the TU011 for the Octavia.  There seem to be people who prefer the TU011, and others that prefer the TM022 though, so I am not sure if I am giving any useful information :)

I'm not sure how much difference the transistor will make.
I built my Tyco Oct using one of Steve's transformers and it works just fine. I used 2N3904 and 2N3906 transistors, all matched to within 5hfe of 160hfe . It doesn't really rage, but the octave effect is very pronounced, and at less than 50% drive, it works across the whole fret-board, depending on the settings. There's a definite sweet spot.
