Using 2 dual op amps instead of quad?

My friend has asked me to build a madbean Kingslayer for him. I ordered the madbean board rather than etching, but my friend says he is interested in trying different dual op amp options instead of using the quad. I know adapters exist for fitting 2 SO8 dual op amps into the space of a single DIP-14, and I'm up for giving that a shot. That would make experimenting with different chips awfully hard, though. Any other ideas? Maybe making a daughter board adapter for socketing 2 DIP-8 chips?

Does anyone have an etchable image they would be willing to share for either a 2 SO8 to DIP-14 adapter or a 2 DIP-8 to DIP-14 adapter?

If I end up trying to make a daughter board myself, would it work if I my layout connects the pin numbers as shown?

Thanks much!

Yes those connections will work, so long as the in, outs and power connections go to the right places any combination will work. You could make an adaptor by just soldering two 8 pin sockets to a 14 pin one, same idea as this http://www.runoffgroove.com/6949.html. If you switch the connections on the right hand side of each of your 8 pin opamps, so 12,13,14 on the left hand one and 5,6,7 on the right, then it would be a pretty easy build.
Or if you only want to try a few opamps you could just solder DIP or SO8 packages straight on to a 14 pin socket.

Thanks, those pics are super helpful! I'll try switching the connections as you suggested.

Here's my solution for using two dual SOIC op amps as a quad 14-pin DIP:

Thanks for the list of connections! Saves me some work for sure.
